Big changes on the (downtown Seattle) horizon for the Silver Stylist

It’s a bittersweet moment over here.
A year and a half ago, I took a leap of faith, left my toxic corporate job, and came back to what I love doing—hair. My end goal was always to be working with clients in my own studio, but I was fully prepared for that to take at least 3+ years.
Little did I know—thanks to the owner and team at Shine in the Market who believed in and supported my growth, and my amazing clients who keep coming back (and sending their friends)—I’d be busy enough to realize this dream much sooner than I anticipated.
It’s with many emotions that I announce that, as of September 9th, the Silver Stylist will be moving from Shine in the Market to a solo salon studio in the Seattle Exchange building downtown!
It happened FAST. From the first studio tour to signing the lease, it took all of about 4 weeks. One of those moments where I thought I was just exploring the options, but everything fell into place. I owe a huge thanks to my sweet grandma who recently passed and left me the money to cover the start-up expenses. Without her, this wouldn’t be happening. I hope I make her proud.
So, where exactly is the new salon space?
Still in downtown Seattle, between the market and Pioneer Square, at the Seattle Exchange building in a suite owned by Salon Republic. The entrance is on 1st Ave between Marion and Columbia, and there’s a very convenient parking garage on the corner of 1st and Columbia (plus plenty of street parking nearby).
It’s a secure building, which means you can’t get in unless I come get you. I'm still working on some kind of intercom system to make it as easy as possible, but for now, you can call or text me at (206) 590-5643 when you arrive and I’ll pop out and grab ya (if I’m not already outside waiting).
What to expect in the new studio
It’s small, but it’s gonna be C-U-T-E. The goal with decor is for it to be light and airy (as airy as 100 sq ft can be) with a mid-century vibe. Think: silver metals, pops of blue, and a fun neon sign. Can you tell I’m excited to have a new space to decorate? Interior design is my first true love, so the opportunity to combine my two passions in this way is giving me all those excited butterflies.
Another benefit of being one-on-one in the space is that I can customize each appointment to your needs—even the non-hair related stuff. Want to listen to your music? I can make that happen. Get over-stimulated in a noisy environment? We can have a quiet, no talking appointment. Forget to eat beforehand? Take your pick from the snack drawer and/or mini fridge.
My goal in this space overall is that it’s more than just a hair appointment for my clients—it’s an experience. Every square inch will be thoughtfully designed and laid out to optimize not only my ability to give you the hair of your dreams, but also to have you leave feeling completely renewed and refreshed.

Not a fan of change?
I totally get it. Please know that if you’d prefer to stick with Shine in the Market, I’ll be more than happy to refer you to anyone there. It’s such a great spot. Feels like you’re hanging in your friend’s living room, and it’s full of talented (and fun to hang out with) stylists.
I’ve learned and grown so much thanks to the guidance from everyone there—especially the owner, Emily. So if that’s where you want to stay, it’s a great choice.
Thanks for joining me on this ride
Something I’m learning on this journey is that excited and terrified can exist simultaneously. And they do. All the time. But I can confirm—without a doubt—it beats the corporate grind any day.
Thank you for being here. Whether you’re family, friend, fellow stylist, client, or random person on the internet. None of this would be possible without you. Cheers to this next phase of growth and new adventures!
