Parking downtown 101

Take the guesswork (and stress-work) out of finding a place to park in downtown Seattle.

Market Garages

There are two garage options for Pike Place Market, both just off of Western Ave and only a couple blocks from the salon. Keep in mind, it's an uphill walk on the way in.

Street Parking

There are tons of options for street parking on Western Ave, 1st, 2nd, and Stewart. Keep in mind, most street parking has a 2 hour limit. Here are the "dos & don'ts" of downtown street parking:

DO

  • do give yourself an extra 10-15 minutes to find a spot.

  • do make sure you check the timing
(for any appt more than a haircut, 2 hours is probably not long enough).

DON'T

  • don't park on 1st ave between 3 - 6pm.

  • don't park on 3rd ave

  • don't leave anything in your car.

Nearby Lots & Garages

There are several lots in the surrounding blocks where you can park for more than two hours. I tend to lean towards lots, but that's just me.
A helpful place to find a nearby lot (and pricing) is Best Parking.

Any time you park downtown, even in a garage, make sure you leave nothing in your car. Here are a couple easy lots & garages in the area:

Public Transportation

For my friends who would rather sit back, relax, and save some $$ by avoiding parking downtown, the Light Rail or the bus are great options. I promise, it's so easy. Here are some helpful details and links for using Sound Transit.

LIGHT RAIL

  • Take the 1 line to the Westlake station

    • If you're south of Westlake, go toward Northgate

    • If you're north of Westlake, go toward Angle Lake/Airport

  • Some stations (Northgate/Tukwilla) have park & rides

BUS

  • Use this handy trip planner to find your route

  • Eastside friends: the Eastgate P&R has a direct bus to downtown!
